Modification-Sequence & Budget-Guide

Many users start modification with cosmetic upgrades and leave chassis protection and wheel system to last, which is wrong. The correct principle: protection first, performance second, appearance last.

1. Stage 1: Basic protection (top priority)
Chassis skid plates and front/rear bumpers. Chassis and front end are vulnerable to rock and branch damage on rough terrain. Protection is the foundation of all off-road builds.
2. Stage 2: Traction & ground clearance
Tires and wheels first, then mild suspension lift. Tires are the only contact point with terrain and decide traction. If stock tire size works well, suspension lift is not urgent.
3. Stage 3: Cargo & spare tire expansion
Swing-out tire carrier and roof rack. Only install when you carry heavy gear or oversized spare tire. These parts add weight; avoid unnecessary installation without long overlanding plans.
4. Stage 4: Lighting & cosmetic upgrades
A-pillar auxiliary lights and competition hood. Auxiliary lights are only for off-road site use. Vented or lightweight hood serves cooling or aesthetic purpose, not essential.

Common pitfalls:

1. Full modification in one go, excessive total weight overloads factory brake and powertrain.
2. Excessive lift and oversized tires without suspension geometry correction.
3. Cheap low-quality brackets and skid plates may crack under off-road load and cause safety risk.

Tips: Modify in phases. Test drive and recheck fasteners after each upgrade, confirm no interference before moving to next stage.
